Emily-Rae Maxwell, our Policy and Participation Team Leader, is a true housing hero after being named national New Professional of the Year.
She won the prestigious title at the Inside Housing and CIH's 2017 Housing Heroes Awards which were held last night (Monday 26 June).
Emily-Rae, who came to work at with us after being accepted onto the National Graduate Development Programme in 2014, said: "I'm incredibly overwhelmed to be the New Professional of the Year 2017 - I would be nothing without my wonderful team."
Emily-Rae went forward for the national award after being named regional winner in May. She was nominated by her colleagues for providing clear strategic leadership, developing members of her team and raising morale across the housing service.
Elliott Brooks, Assistant Director for Housing, said: "Congratulations to Emily-Rae for winning the national award. Over the past year she has refocused the team's efforts, successfully recruited for a new residents' committee and been a driving force in our new approach to tenant engagement. I'm really proud that one of our dedicated employees and the hard work they carry out for the benefit of our residents has been recognised by the CIH."
