Christmas and New Year opening hours 2017-18


Over Christmas and New Year you will be able to use our online services 24 hours a day to make payments, report issues and check your bin collection dates.

Our offices

Our offices, including our customer service centres, will be closed for bank holidays over Christmas and New Year. Our call centre will close at 4.45pm on Friday 22 December and Friday 29 December. Offices will be closed on Monday 25 December and Tuesday 26 December 2017 and on Monday 1 January 2018. During these times you can still use all our online services and make payments using our 24-hour automated service on 0345 370 6070.

Adventure playgrounds

The four adventure playgrounds, Adeyfield, Bennetts End, Chaulden and Grovehill/Woodhall Farm, are closed from Saturday 23 December 2017 to Monday 1 January 2018 inclusive. They are closed for the weekends before, during and after the school holidays.

The playgrounds are open at the following times: Monday 18 to Wednesday 20 December 2017 from 3.30pm until 6.30pm. Thursday 21, Friday 22 December 2017, Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 January 2018 from 9.30am until 5.30pm.

Term time opening hours, from 3.30pm to 6.30pm, start again on Thursday 4 January 2018.

Old Town Hall

The Old Town Hall is open Monday 18 to Friday 22 December, 10am to 5.30pm, and Saturday 23 December, 10am to 1pm.

It is closed Sunday 24 December to Monday 1 January 2018.

Normal opening hours start from Tuesday 2 January 2018.

Cemeteries

Woodwells and Heath Lane cemeteries in Hemel Hempstead, Kingshill in Berkhamsted and Tring Cemetery are open throughout Christmas and the New Year. Winter opening hours are Monday to Saturday 8am to 4.30pm, Sundays and Bank Holidays 9am to 4.30pm.

The cemetery offices at Woodwells will be closed on the bank holidays, Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 December 2017 and Monday 1 January 2018.

If you're a council tenant or leaseholder and have a repair emergency over the Christmas period, please call 0800 018 6050 and select option 2.

For a heating or hot water emergency, please call 0800 018 6050 and select option 1. If you have a non-urgent repair, please report it online.

If you become homeless outside of working hours and cannot make your own temporary arrangements, please call the emergency homeless line on 0800 018 6050.
