Season of giving

Cavendish school pupils in their festive jumpersWe recently helped two local schools raise money in the run-up to Christmas.

Year 12 pupils from Cavendish School organised a fabulously festive Christmas Jumper Day at The Forum in Hemel Hempstead on Wednesday (13 December). We raised a total of £192.24 for Druglink, a charity that assists those recovering from addiction back into society.

The entrepreneurial local pupils are taking part in the Dragon’s Apprentice Challenge. Teams in the Dacorum-wide challenge are allocated a business and a charity and tasked with turning £100 into £1,000 or more for the charity.

We were more than happy to put on our festive knits for the day and help them raise nearly 20 per cent of their total target for the Hertfordshire-based charity.

On Thursday (14 December), The Collett School Choir brought some Christmas magic to The Forum, with a performance of Christmas songs in the atrium.

From Jingle Bells to Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, a festive flurry of tunes was very well received by members of the public and staff alike.

We raised an amazing £209.66 to go towards items the school budget does not cover, but that help make the children’s experience a positive one.
