Changes to Cabinet

Cllr Andrew Williams, Leader of Dacorum Borough Council, has announced a new member to the Council’s Cabinet.

Cllr David Collins is Portfolio Holder for Corporate and Contracted Services with responsibility for ICT, Performance and Projects, and Legal and Democratic Services. As part of his portfolio, Cllr Collins will also have responsibility for existing Council contracts including facilities management, car parking and leisure management contracts.

Cllr Collins spent the last year as Mayor of Dacorum. During his working life, Cllr Collins spent more than 30 years developing small to medium-sized businesses in the management and consultancy sectors. He also established his own consulting group advising on market conditions in a wide range of industries, from electronics to construction.

Cllr Collins was first elected to Dacorum Borough Council in 2011 and until recently chaired the Development Management Committee. He has also been an elected member of Berkhamsted Town Council since 2007, was previously a school governor and is a member of the Chiltern Conservation Board.

Cllr Andrew Williams said, “I'm pleased to welcome Cllr David Collins to Dacorum Borough Council’s Cabinet. He has served the borough as a member for the past seven years and I believe his knowledge of local government alongside his wealth of business experience will allow him to ensure that we are getting the right balance of quality services and value for money from our contracts. He will be safeguarding services for the borough’s residents amid continuing budget reductions from central government”.

Cllr David Collins said, “I'm looking forward to taking up my new position on the Cabinet, which will give me the opportunity to get the right deal for residents across the borough. I want to ensure that Dacorum remains a thriving local community for both residents and businesses.”

Other portfolio title changes for Dacorum’s Cabinet are for Cllr Janice Marshall, Portfolio Holder for Environmental Services, moving responsibility for regulatory services over to Cllr Neil Harden, who is now Community and Regulatory Services Portfolio Holder. Cllr Graham Sutton is Planning and Infrastructure Portfolio Holder (previously Planning and Regeneration).
