The Government has provided a package of measures to support businesses during the period of disruption caused by coronavirus (COVID-19). For more details, please visit the Government website.

Grant funding for businesses

The Government is using local councils to pay grants to businesses in line with schemes it has set up.

We are providing extra grants to businesses that have been severely financially impacted by the pandemic, but which were not eligible for help under the Local Restrictions Support Grant.

Closed schemes

The following schemes all provided support to businesses but are now closed.

Small business support grants and Retail, Hospitality and Leisure support grants

We paid out £26 million in grants to eligible business rate payers, for more than 1,900 properties in Dacorum under these schemes.

Local Authority discretionary business grants

We paid out £1.4 million in grants to 190 businesses under this scheme.

Local Restrictions Support Grants for the period 5 November 2020 to 31 March 2021, Christmas Support Payment for wet-led pubs and Closed Business Lockdown Payment

Grants were available for businesses that had been ordered to close, or had been able to remain open but were severely impacted by the tier restrictions.

This scheme provided grants to businesses that did not qualify under the terms of previous grant schemes but which had suffered significant financial losses due to the pandemic.
