Having Your Say
Every now and then, there may be an issue which
you feel strongly about and want the chance to talk to Councillors
about. You can talk directly to the Councillor elected to represent
you, but you can also ask questions of the Members of the Cabinet
at the meetings of the Council.
Having your say at council meetings
Most council meetings include a section on
public participation. This gives people an opportunity to put
questions and comments to councillors at that meeting.
There are some rules to make sure that as many
people as possible can be heard fairly. You need to let us know in
advance if you want to ask a question. There are limits on how much
of each meeting can be taken up with people having their say and
how long each person can speak for.
If you wish to speak at one of our committee
meetings you can now apply to do so online. Just click
on the Committee that you wish to attend below to read some
explanatory notes and then fill in our simple online form.
