Single Person Discount review
We recently conducted a review of Council Tax accounts that are in receipt of a discount, to ensure everyone is paying the correct amount of tax. This service was provided by Datatank Ltd, in partnership with ourselves.
In the final stage of the review, Datatank removed the Single Person Discount from those customers who had not responded to the letters sent on 12 June 2023 and 12 July 2023 asking to verify their sole occupancy.
If you believe your discount has been removed in error and you are still the sole occupant at the address, you can reapply for a 25 per cent discount by using the reapply form below:

Each year, councils nationwide receive a high volume of applications for Single Person Discount. Sadly, some of these applications are not genuine and these people are claiming reductions in their bills falsely. Therefore, from time to time we review entitlement to the Single Person Discount.
