Refurbished play areas reopen
We have reopened newly renovated play areas at Apsley Lock and Woodhall Farm today (Friday 26 July 2024), providing families in Dacorum with modern and safe recreational spaces.
These play areas have been upgraded with a variety of equipment designed for children of all ages, including climbing frames, swings, slides, and interactive elements.
These refurbishments are part of our extensive project to upgrade eight play areas across the borough this year.
More than £1million has been invested in these projects, with funding sourced from a combination of £500,000 from Dacorum Borough Council and £610,000 from the Community Infrastructure Levy – funds collected from developers to support local infrastructure.
Cllr Robin Bromham, our Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood Operations, said: “I am delighted to see the new play areas at Apsley Lock and Woodhall Farm completed. These spaces are important for our children’s wellbeing and development, providing them with safe and exciting places to play and explore.”
Upcoming refurbishments include the play areas at Flaunden, Croft Meadow and Tower Hill, which are due to be completed in the coming weeks. Durrants Hill, Miswell Lane and Galley Hill play areas will be completed later in the year.
