Safeguarding

We are committed to protecting children, young people and adults at risk, from abuse when they use services provided by or for the Council.

We will respond quickly and appropriately to any reports of abuse.

We will always act in the best interest of those who need protection. We will promote the welfare and protection of all children, young people and vulnerable adults living in the community.

Through our Safe Recruitment procedures, we will make sure that people who should not be working with children, young people and adults at risk are not hired. Any concerns reported will be taken seriously and handled with care.

We will not allow anyone to be harassed for raising concerns about abuse. Any such cases will be dealt with appropriately.

Safeguarding Adults Review

The Safeguarding Adults Board must arrange a Safeguarding Adults Review (SAR) if an adult with care and support needs dies or comes to serious harm because of abuse or neglect and there is a concern about how agencies worked together to support the adult. The reviews are about learning not blaming. A review identifies what went wrong to improve how we will work in the future.  Please see below for Dacorum SARs:
